Numerous sound samples can be found on this site. Each CD information page has one sample taken from the disc in question, and the samples can be controlled by using the Sound Sample tab at the top of each such page.
Sound samples will begin to play as soon as they have finished downloading. Please be patient, as some of the samples are quite large files. Do please note that, because of the high level of compression used to keep file sizes manageable, the samples you will hear on this site are not representative of the quality of the CDs themselves. Nevertheless, it is hoped that they will give you at least an idea of the kind of clarity and cleanness of sound that Orchestral Concert CDs provide.
This page indexes the various audio samples to be found on this site, as well as providing access to a special podcast and radio show devoted to Orchestral Concert CDs, produced by Czech Music Direct.
Czech Music Direct produced a podcast about Orchestral Concert CDs and its first two CD issues in April 2009 and an online Radio Show in June 2010, and conducted interviews with recording engineer Geoffrey Terry, about his approach to recording concerts, and pianist Peter Katin, concerning his performance of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto no 3.
